Story Behind the Art:
Jiap Rojjana's parents are poor farmers who worked hard to send their children to school. 'However, I knew it would be too much for them to send us to university. When I heard there were jobs in northern Thailand, I set off. The idea of working with textiles came after visiting a silk shop. The colors and patterns mesmerized me! I bought some cloth to make myself a dress. With scrap pieces, I made a few cushions and gave them to a friend, who liked them so much she ordered more for her friends. So it started. Eventually, I became able to support my two children and even had some money left over to send to my family.'
